Can Marijuana Ease PTSD? A Debate Brews

'The Department of Veterans Affairs finds itself in a difficult position because some vets want to use marijuana to treat symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Pot possession remains illegal under federal law. The VA says that as a federal agency its doctors can't recommend using it.'

  1. i have a buddy down in Texas who is under psychiatric evaluation for ptsd and is being filled with a bunch of tablets everyday - which he says have horrible side effects such as diarrhea, sleeping 16 days and feeling generally like a zombie. he says the one thing that makes him feel somewhat normal is marijuana - and he says that pretty much everyone around him says the same thing - kinda sad that the one thing they all need to help them out, they are not allowed to have.

  2. I've got PTSD from war time service in Afghanistan, smoking is THE only thing that helps. Fun side effect of VA sanctioned meds for PTSD is a crushing lack of sex drive and impotence along with the above mentioned ones in previous post. I was on the VA cocktail for a year and quit it to smoke and now I am back to work and life. Thanks Mother Nature! It's like you know something we don't.
